What natural medications or herbs can I use to reverse or stop Male pattern baldness?

Written by reader on November 25th, 2008

I know that Rogaine and Propecia can help, but are there any natural medications or herbs that can slow down or stop hair loss? Also, would anti-aging vitamins be any use. I’m desperate because I am only 17 and already experiencing male pattern baldness.

I started balding when I was 18, but i’m 23 and just a bit thin, it takes a while.

Don’t shampoo your hair everyday, only every 2 or 3 days.

cardio exercise reduces the hormone that makes your bald, and weight lifting creates more which would speed up baldness.

Pumpkin seeds block the hormone as well, and are delicious lol. just make sure, if you are gonna eat a lot, eat unsalted because the salted ones are hard to eat, especially if you are addicted to them like i am.

I started going bald at about the same age. I was too stubborn to start using anything at the time because I was in denial. What you should know is that once you start losing your hair, the more time that passes by, the harder it will be to regrow your hair.

There are products that claim to stop hair loss and some claim to regrow hair. You can try Nioxin shampoo. It’s herbal and has a decent track record. It’s pricey because there are three products that you use concurrently. There are other kinds to. Nisim is one whose effectiveness is unproven. If you aren’t interested in any of those, I would then recommend using shampoo with tea tree oil but I wouldn’t get my hopes up.

Rogaine and Propecia are the only products that have been scientifically proven to regrow hair. The hair you grow from using Propecia is supposedly better but Propecia also has sexual side effects that I don’t want any part of. Rogaine is good. I use that foam they started showing on TV. Don’t be discouraged. They say it takes two months to work. I should start to see some results soon. The stuff is pricey too.
