Researchers are reporting that they’ve linked a gene to a rare condition that makes people develop thin “peach fuzz” hair, potentially paving the way toward greater insight into male-pattern baldness.

The finding won’t immediately lead to a better treatment or cure, said Angela M. Christiano, co-author of the study, published April 15 in the journal Nature . And though it’s “just a tiny little piece of the puzzle,” it could provide perspective about a component of male-pattern baldness known as shrinkage, said Christiano, director of the Center for Human Genetics at Columbia University.

Contrary to popular belief, male-pattern baldness doesn’t cause hair to stop growing. Instead, hair still grows but it’s short and fine, like peach fuzz, Christiano said.

hair loss treatment has evolved over the years through intense research and medical science today is capable of curing almost any kind of hair loss problems. Let us at the very outset discuss what the major causes of hair loss are.

There are three major causes of hair loss predominantly found in both males and females. The first type is caused by hormonal imbalances namely testosterone, which is responsible for masculine appearances and characteristics. The second major cause is genetics-traits that are inherited from the mother’s or father’s side that influence hair loss.

The third cause contributes in conjunction with genetics and happens at a particular age when hair follicles produce an enzyme called 5 alpha reductase. Testosterone present in the body combines with 5 alpha reductase to produce dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which causes the onset of hair loss in males as well as females.

male pattern baldness (MPB) is known as a condition where hair loss happens typically on the crown and usually starts with the temples forming an “M” like pattern.

Female Pattern Baldness (FPB) is known as a condition when there is a gradual thinning of hair and there occurs moderate to heavy hair fall on the hairline and the crown.

Hair Loss Treatment

The first step towards treatment of hair loss begins with proper evaluation and consultation with an expert. Usually a doctor ascertains the root cause of the hair loss and prepares a plan of action.

The next step for hair growth solution involves either laser treatment or hair transplants. Laser treatment stimulates re-growth of hair by restoring and bathing the scalp and its micro circulatory system. Hair transplant system stimulates natural hair growth by taking hair from thick growth areas and transplanting them in the thinning areas.

Hair loss treatment is a very reliable and safe procedure that helps in natural hair growth and provides effective hair loss solution. One must note that in the process of hair transplant only a small number of donor hairs are available. The physician has to carefully evaluate the treatment strategy by carefully evaluating the age, hair loss pattern and hair condition of the patient.

There are many reasons for hair loss but 90% of all cases in men are due to a condition called “androgenetic alopecia.” This is commonly referred to as “male pattern baldness.”

You may loose 80 to 100 strands of hair per day. But this hair is not dead as all the hair that falls gets replaced with new growing hair. The hair goes through a generation, growth and fall cycle which continues again with generation of new hair. You do not become bald because you are loosing more hair, you will become bald when the lost hair is not replaced with new hair.

Developed by Merck pharmaceuticals, Propecia is licensed for use in men only. Women and children should never take this medicine. Male pattern baldness is one of the most common causes of hair loss. In this condition, men lose hair in a well-defined pattern beginning above both temples. Hair loss also occurs in the crown area and in some men, the hairline also recedes. If not treated in time, male pattern hair loss can result in partial or complete baldness.

At the very mention of hair transplant surgery, most people immediately think of unnatural-looking surgery of the past where plugs of hair were inserted into the scalp, making it look, well, polka-dotted and awful. It was a terrible solution primarily because the groupings of 15-25 hairs doctors implanted in the scalp did not mimic what occurs naturally on the scalp. Naturally, hair grows in groupings of 2-4 strands, no more. And there is a direction in which these strands of hair grow that determines how the hair falls once it grows out. One new hair transplant technique takes that into consideration. When surgeons developed new methods using micro-tools, they were finally able to harvest hair follicles in small enough groupings to make what is called follicular hair transplant surgery look natural.

According to the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), understanding what made our hair fall out turned the tide in follicular hair transplant surgery. Doctors discovered that hair taken from the back of the head tended to be immune to the same process of weakening and falling out that the hair on the top of head was.

Hair transplant surgery remains at the top end financially of hair loss solutions. It is not cheap. But considering the long term necessity of using hair systems that need maintenance, or topical hair therapy medications that can never be stopped once started, or the even more unpleasant prospect of being bald for the rest of one’s life, the cost of hair transplant surgery is not so bad. Most patients are able to spread the cost of the surgery into affordable payments. But most importantly, find a surgeon who is an expert in hair transplant surgery with a great reputation to help restore your hair and your confidence.

Overview of male pattern baldness

Male pattern baldness is a phrase that is used a lot, but beyond understanding that our father’s or grandfather?s hairlines looked eerily similar to our own at a certain age, most of us have little understanding of the how?s and why?s of male pattern hair loss. It is safe to say that male pattern baldness (Androgenetic Alopecia) has been around as long as men have.

When men lose their hair, they tend to lose it predictable ways, around the hairline and the crown of the head. This pattern of hair loss is referred to as male pattern baldness.

Causes of Male Pattern Hair Loss

?Genetics is heavily linked to male pattern baldness. Scientists still don?t know the precise genetic mechanism that triggers male pattern baldness, but there is enough evidence to support the likelihood of genes as the instigators. Studies in 2006 and 2007 have shown that a variant on the X chromosome (the female contribution in a male?s XY combination) contributes to male pattern baldness, leading scientists to conclude that male pattern baldness is passed down mostly through the maternal line. So a glance at your mother?s father should give you a heads up about what?s in your future.

?Aging is another factor that combines with genetics to trigger certain hormones, mainly DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) to overproduce. An overabundance of DHT causes hair to miniaturize, or getting thinner, weaker and grayer.

?Other issues like stress, diet, lack of sleep, even smoking marijuana can have negative effects on your hair. A 2008 study done in Amsterdam, where marijuana is legal, concluded that its use ?frighteningly? accelerated hair loss in men ages 18-45.

?Some illnesses such as diabetes, lupus and heart disease can accelerate the natural process of losing one?s hair as well.

The Life Cycle of Hair

To understand the process hair loss, it?s important to understand how hair grows. Like any other cell in our bodies, hair follicles go through cycles. Hair grows (sometimes for up to six years), then stop growing. It rests for a few months as a new hair begins to grow in its place, when the old hair is shed. Finally, the whole cycle begins again. At any given time, we are naturally shedding hair at a rate of 100 hairs per day. We don?t notice this unless we find an extraordinary amount circling the drain or on our pillows. When hair sheds, but fails to grow back, our hair thins. But male pattern baldness can take years to occur. This is because the DHT is slowly strangling your hair follicles at the root, depriving them of the oxygen and nutrients that healthy hair requires. Every time your hair grows back after a resting phase, it is thinner, less vigorous. And eventually, follicle-by-follicle, it stops growing back altogether.

The Norwood Scale

Ultimately, your changing hairline begins to fall into the Norwood Scale of male pattern baldness. On the Norwood scale there are different levels of hair loss, from lesser front hairline loss to severe baldness of the crown at the other end. Doctors and hair replacement specialists use the Norwood scale to evaluate and classify your hair loss. This can be a helpful tool in understanding the eventual progression of your male pattern baldness and to see where you fall in the scale range.

Treatment Options

Hair restoration is a big business industry with shampoos, topical treatments, and pharmaceuticals and over the counter products like Rogaine joining the ranks in the battle against hair loss with modest success. Studies show that products like Minoxidil, and Finasteride (which inhibit the effects of DHT) are somewhat successful in stopping the shedding and show some improvement in 80% of men. The downside of these products is that once you stop using them, your hair will once again fall out. So it?s a lifelong commitment.

On a more natural scale, chemicals like caffeine, Saw Palmetto and Chinese Knotweed have shown some promise in preventing hair loss.

Laser technology is one of the newest concepts in preventing male pattern baldness. The theory is that low light laser therapy increases circulation and blood flow around the follicles, thereby nourishing them. 90% of patients who?ve tried laser hair therapy have seen improvement in the thickness and vitality of their hair. Unfortunately, laser hair therapy must be started early when follicles are still alive. Once gone, they?re gone for good and even laser therapy cannot revive them.

Follicular hair transplants are, perhaps, the ultimate, albeit most expensive, solution to male pattern baldness. Hair is harvested surgically from the back of the head where it is not predisposed to genetic shedding and is grafted in 1-4 hair groupings in the bald areas of the scalp. These new techniques are safer and more natural-looking solutions to hair loss than hair plugs of yesterday and ultimately don?t require the constant maintenance and worry of nonsurgical hair systems.

hair loss is something most men secretly ‘fear’ and hope it may never actually occur. For ages, men have made several attempts to reverse the hair loss process and find some cure for baldness.

Cleopatra, for instance, used a mixture of horse teeth, bear grease, burnt mice and deer marrow in her attempt to cure Julius Caesar’s baldness, but it never worked out. Since then, humanity has invented a cure for baldness that actually works.

Hair Loss or signs of baldness (Androgenic alopecia) is a common symptom of the aging process, but what many people disregard is that it can also cause low self-esteem; falling hairs are an obstruction towards an attractive personality. Dealing with hair loss can be highly challenging, leading to intense stress, anxiety and even depression.

Historical facts indicate that hair loss that cannot be stopped or prevented, and this adds to the anxiety of many men worldwide. However, Finasteride or better known as Generic Propecia is the answer to all your doubts or word-of-mouth opinions pertaining to hair loss. Finasteride or Generic Propecia is the premier drug treatment for baldness.

Finasteride is the most trusted medication for hair loss; commonly branded as Generic Propecia it is the tried and tested treatment availed by thousands of customers world-wide.

The primary contributing factor in male pattern baldness is DHT – 5-Dihydrotestosterone. Hair loss research has brought open the role of DHT in male and female pattern baldness and hence preventive measures were targeted to prevent this hormone from acting on receptors present in human scalp.

Generic Propecia works by inhibiting the formation of DHT in the system. Within days of administration, the overall DHT levels are reduced and the adverse effects of DHT on the follicles stop. 1 mg of Finasteride (Propecia) acts as a DHT inhibitor since results show that it blocks approximately 55% of DHT action. As a result, the hair loss process is reversed. Sustained treatment of 1 mg daily is required, in order to maintain reduced DHT levels.

We are leading suppliers of Propecia Online, who specialize in marketing Finasteride and Finasteride only. Make use of this revolutionary cure for hair loss from the comfort of your own home.

But considering the long term necessity of using hair systems that need maintenance, or topical hair therapy medications that can never be stopped once started, or the even more unpleasant prospect of being bald for the rest of ones life, the cost of hair transplant surgery is not so bad. Most patients are able to spread the cost of the surgery into affordable payments. But most importantly, find a surgeon who is an expert in hair transplant surgery with a great reputation to help restore your hair and your confidence.

Propecia finasteride is one of the most effective treatments for male pattern baldness currently available on the market. Propecia was approved by the US Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) as a treatment for male pattern baldness in 1997. Millions of men have benefitted from the drug to prevent further hair loss and stimulate the growth of new hair.

How does Propecia work?

Finasteride – the active ingredient in Propecia belongs to the class of medicine known as type II 5-alpha reductase inhibitor. The reason why Propecia works so effectively is that it has been able to strike at the root cause of male pattern baldness. It prevents the conversion of testosterone into its active form dihydrotestosterone (DHT) by inhibiting the action of the enzyme type II 5-alpha reductase that facilitates this conversion. Although DHT is an important sex hormone, in some men the level of DHT becomes quite high. When in excess, DHT shrinks the hair follicles in the scalp, which leads to hair fall. Propecia helps to keep the DHT levels in check and thereby prevents further hair loss. When taken regularly, Propecia also stimulates the growth of new hair.

Propecia finasteride is available in the dosage strength of 1mg. You need to take the medicine daily, preferably at the same time of the day. The effects of Propecia should be noticeable within three to six months. To maintain the benefits of Propecia, you would need to continue taking the medicine. If you discontinue taking Propecia any hair gained during the treatment will be lost in 12 months time.

Side effects of Propecia

Like most other prescription medications, Propecia is also associated with side effects. However, side effects of Propecia are few and not all men are affected with these. A very few men report sexual side effects such as loss of sexual desire, problem having erections or decreased semen volume. These side effects subside when the treatment is stopped. Other Propecia side effects include allergic reactions such as rash, itching, hives and swelling of the lips and face, breast tenderness and enlargement and testicular pain. Consult your doctor immediately if you notice any changes in your breasts such as lumps, pain or nipple discharge or if any other side effects of Propecia become bothersome.

How do I get Propecia finasteride?
As Propecia finasteride is a prescription medication, you should always consult your doctor before taking this medicine. These days, you can also get Propecia through online clinics. This method will save you both time and money. Once you place your order for Propecia, you’ll be requested to fill-in online medical consultations form asking details about your health conditions. Your medical details will be reviewed by a specialist doctor. If the online doctor finds Propecia suitable for you, you’ll receive prescription via email. Following this, your Propecia pills will reach your doorstep in a safe and discreet packaging. Reputed online clinics do not charge for the consultation

The hair goes through a generation, growth and fall cycle which continues
again with generation of new hair. You do not become bald because you are loosing more hair, you will become bald when the lost hair is not replaced with new hair. ?

Patients with grade 3 hair loss respond with medicines alone; unless the patient desires to change the hairline or bring forward the temporal receding on either sides. Anybody below age of 23 years or not having hair loss beyond Grade III is not considered for hair transplant surgery. Patients with grade 4 hair loss and more
require medicines and surgery to achieve a desirable result.

Pre-treatment/pre-conditioning of hair with medicines which stop hair fall, induce new hair growth and strengthen the hair roots in the recipient area prior to the transplant is recommended. It stops hair loss in 2 months, and thinning of hair in men and women will get corrected by 60 ? 70% with cyclical medicines within 4 months. Moreover, pre conditioning the hair roots ensures a predictable and guaranteed result following the hair transplant.

The gold standard in hair restoration surgery is the Follicular Unit Hair transplant also known as follicular unit hair grafting or ?the strip method?. A follicular unit is the naturally occurring group of hair containing from 1 – 3, occasionally 4 hair. The hair follicles on the back and side of the head (the “donor area”) are genetically programmed to be permanent (i.e. they do not fall).
A hair transplant involves transferring a persons own live hair roots, which are genetically programmed never to fall, to an area of baldness. The grafts can be inserted into tiny needle- sized sites in the recipient area. A combination of these different sized grafts is used in the hair restoration, with the one-hair grafts in an irregular pattern along the hairline, and the two & three hair grafts placed further behind to create more density. By transplanting follicular units, the way hair grows naturally, the results of the hair transplantation are virtually undetectable.

Hair transplant is done under local anaesthesia along with sedation (if required) to make you relaxed and comfortable. As many as 2000 grafts can be transplanted in a single procedure lasting 6 – 10 hours. You can go home the same day.

Antibiotics & mild pain pills to reduce the chance of pain & swelling are taken the first three days after the procedure. You can shampoo your hair with a mild shampoo on day 3 following surgery and can return to work and most regular activities. ?

Patients find that their ?new? hair falls out within 2 – 3 months after surgery. This condition is normal and almost always temporary. After hair falls out, it will take another 2 – 3 months before hair growth resumes. To help accelerate the growth of the transplants, we recommend the patient to start the medicinal treatment
protocol again following the removal of the sutures.

Remember, the only permanent remedy for hair loss is surgical hair restoration, or hair transplantation. Once transplanted, these hair will continue to grow for a lifetime; they can be groomed, shampooed and require haircuts like normal hair. The results of hair replacement surgery can enhance your appearance, self-confidence and change your persona…..forever.

Overview of male pattern baldness

Male pattern baldness is a phrase that is used a lot, but beyond understanding that our father’s or grandfather’s hairlines looked eerily similar to our own at a certain age, most of us have little understanding of the how’s and why’s of male pattern hair loss.

Genetics is heavily linked to male pattern baldness. Scientists still don’t know the precise genetic mechanism that triggers male pattern baldness, but there is enough evidence to support the likelihood of genes as the instigators. Studies in 2006 and 2007 have shown that a variant on the X chromosome (the female contribution in a male’s XY combination) contributes to male pattern baldness, leading scientists to conclude that male pattern baldness is passed down mostly through the maternal line. So a glance at your mother’s father should give you a heads up about what’s in your future.

Aging is another factor that combines with genetics to trigger certain hormones, mainly DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) to overproduce. An overabundance of DHT causes hair to miniaturize, or getting thinner, weaker and grayer.

Other issues like stress, diet, lack of sleep, even smoking marijuana can have negative effects on your hair. A 2008 study done in Amsterdam, where marijuana is legal, concluded that its use “frighteningly” accelerated hair loss in men ages 18-45.

Some illnesses such as diabetes, lupus and heart disease can accelerate the natural process of losing one’s hair as well.

The Life Cycle of Hair

To understand the process hair loss, it’s important to understand how hair grows. We don’t notice this unless we find an extraordinary amount circling the drain or on our pillows.

So it’s a lifelong commitment.

90% of patients who’ve tried laser hair therapy have seen improvement in the thickness and vitality of their hair. Unfortunately, laser hair therapy must be started early when follicles are still alive. Once gone, they’re gone for good and even laser therapy cannot revive them.

These new techniques are safer and more natural-looking solutions to hair loss than hair plugs of yesterday and ultimately don’t require the constant maintenance and worry of nonsurgical hair systems.

There are many techniques in treating male baldness. Men have been dealing with balding hair since the beginning of time. Some men accept the fact that they are losing their hair, and even shave their head altogether. Some try to hide their balding heads with a wig. Some try to treat the hair they still have in order to keep from losing any more.

If you are going bald there could be many reasons why. Baldness can be hereditary. If your father or grandfather were bald, chances are you will be also. Stress can cause you to lose your hair. This could be either physical or emotional stress.

Aging is a natural factor for hair loss. And you might not believe this, but if you wash your hair too often you could weaken your hair and cause it to fall out. Also, you might want to dry your hair with a towel. If you use the hair dryer too often you can damage and weaken you hair.

There are a lot of treatments for male baldness. You can even take drugs orally to help stave off your hair loss. But realize that these drugs have their own side effects. So discuss with your doctor the side effects you can expect and if they are worth the possibility that they will restore your hair.

If you would rather use a topical instead of an oral medication, you will find many on the market. These topical products also have side effects, but they are not at numerous as oral medications. Most topical products will restore the hair on the back of your head, but will not help your receding hair line however.

Many believe that hair loss is due to an inadequate diet. And they think that if you took diet supplements that include the right amount of vitamins, and minerals, that your hair will be restored. The advantage to using natural supplements is that they will help your overall health and you will not suffer side effects you would have when you use oral medication. But check with your doctor before taking any supplement to find out if it will interfere with any prescription medication you are taking.

hair loss is something that people are usually appalled at. Most of them do not like it whenever they are called bald or baldie. That is why they do everything they can to prevent this hair tragedy from happening to them, including buying top selling hair loss products. However, not all cases are the same. So, there are just some people who cannot escape hair loss. Nonetheless, if you still want to prevent it from happening to you, here are some suggestions.

Research your family history. A lot of hair loss cases are genetic. So if your ancestors lost most of their hair before they even reached 40, chances are you will also lose your hair at the same age. However, you must not lose hope yet. Once you see the early signs, you must go to your dermatologist right away. While you will not be able to change your genetic makeup, you can still reduce the amount of hair falling off your head.

Avoid stressful situations as much as possible. According to researchers, stress is a huge factor for hair fall. Whenever individuals undergo emotional, physical, or mental stress, their hair often falls off. This happens even if they do not have family histories of hair fall and baldness. Anyway, to be able to reduce stress, you can try meditating and exercising. You must also take time to unwind and relax.

Avoid products that contain strong chemicals. Whenever you go out to buy hair products, check out the ingredients. Also, whenever you go to the salon, resist offers for perming, relaxing, or coloring. Your hair may look good at first; but after a while, it will start to fall off. The chemicals in these hair products are very harmful not only to nature but also to your hair. Then again, if your hair is already damaged, deep conditioning and hot oil treatments might help restore its health.

Have a healthy lifestyle. Your overall health is very important. If you want your hair to be healthy, your whole body has to be healthy. So, you must eliminate your bad vices and have a balanced diet.

For hair loss treatment Singapore and worldwide, scientists say there are three causes of alopecia in either men or women.

1 – An abundance of DHT

2 – Lack of vital nutrition

3 – Pseudo-oestrogen hormones

DHT

Male hormone testosterone is transformed into DHT (a stronger variant of testosterone). This fresh chemical attaches to the hair follicle receptors thus preventing vital nutrients from getting into the hair. The hair shrinks and becomes thin and eventually dies. More affectionately known as “peach fuzz” on young men with little hair.

Is this why ‘ladyboys’ never had any baldness to suffer from? It got Plato scratching his head. It is likewise the reason only men get male pattern baldness and not women. Hair loss in women is more regularly distributed with thinning over the entire scalp. Also, formidable DHT inhibiting treatments which incidentally was only effective on youthful men with hair loss and not older male or females. Too much DHT is therefore not the sole grounds for thinning hair.

More is explained here hair loss treatment singapore

LACK OF VITAL NUTRIENTS

Hair requires a variety of nutrients to support itself. The theory here is that both DHT and estrogen-like chemicals halt the hair follicle thru clasping onto it too compactly. However, even without DHT, a person who lacks nutrients will live thru hair loss.

Tests on lab rats show evidence that malnutrition causes hair loss. Experts cancelled out the genes in mice responsible for maintaining of the hair and scalp. These genes are then only upkept with vitamin D. The result, horrific, hair loss, rickets and cycts started to appear in the initial phases of the study. Then, when the same scientists injected naturally hairless lab rats with vitamin D, they started maturing hair at a shocking pace.

It has been shown that zinc and common copper, if both are lacking, there will be an increase in loss of hair. Plus, a copper peptide was has been used to stimulate hair growth in the tissue surrounding a wound of an injured person. Copper peptide was originally also utilised as a therapeutic accelerant.

For women on the other hand, a lack of amino acid L-lysine and iron has been linked to losing hair. Therapy which includes these two ingredients have been proven to be effective in stopping and in some cases even reversing hair loss.

PSEUDO-OESTROGEN CHEMICALS

It is commonly unheard of for women in Singapore to get hair loss at any age. Over the last two decades an increasing amount of women in industrialized areas are going thru baldness. This has been blamed on chemicals from the nearby industrial buildings which “copy” the chemical side-effects of oestrogen. These pseudo-oestrogen chemicals “hug” tightly around the hair follicle receptors thus starving the hair follicle of life-sustaining nutrients, parallel to the way DHT does.

And, this too seems to be the reason why overweight men lose hair. Fat cells in weighty and balding males have increased levels of the enzyme aromatase (responsible for transforming testosterone into oestrogen). Plus bacteria in fat cells create oestrogen-like chemicals.

This brief report will help you solve the mystery and sincerely come to understand the root cause of male pattern baldness. Truth be told, I can share with you right now that this cause is simply the starvation of your hair follicles. So I guess the million dollar question is why are your follicles starving, and what can be done to reverse the effects right away?

If you are suffering from male pattern baldness, then it is almost guaranteed that your hair is thinning due to a deficiency of magnesium, b-vitamins, zinc, copper, and vitamin A, among other essential “hair nutrients.” The first suspect you should consider as the cause of this nutrient deficiency is an excessive supply of the hormone dht within your bloodstream.

Are you with me so far?

Without question, dht is the real “bad guy” here, adhering to your hair follicles and preventing them from absobing proper nutriment from your scalp’s blood supply. Dht is literally starving your hair follicles to death if you are, in fact, experiencing male pattern baldness.

What Else Contributes to the Demise of Your Hair Follicles?

It seems that a lot of supposed hair loss “experts” like to only focus on dht as the root cause of male pattern baldness, but it does go far beyond simply blocking this hormone. There are two additional factors which are equally important. These are nutrient deficiency and poor circulation. We will place our focus on ALL THREE of these, as this will give you the most complete chance of getting your hair loss under control as quickly and thoroughly as possible.

Quick note… not all male pattern baldness is treatable via non-surgical means. It is possible that your condition has gone untreated for too long, and is now past the point of no return. This is true if you have patches of scalp with absolutely zero hair cover. In other words, my friend, you’re totally bald! If this describes you, then you may want to look into hair transplants.

Most men will benefit greatly from the 3-step process that follows!

Cause of Male Pattern Baldness #1 – DHT:

There are two common things men do to combat the over-production of dht in the bloodstream. The most popular is to take finasteride (Propecia), and the next most popular is to take saw palmetto. Saw palmetto is a natural alternative to finasteride, and is preferred by a great number of gentlemen who choose not to run the risks of sexual side effects posed by finasteride. Both options have a fantastic reputation of effectively blocking dht, and finasteride is actually FDA Approved!

Cause of Male Pattern Baldness #2 – Vitamin & Mineral Deficiency:

We’re not in the clear yet. Blocking dht frees the follicles up to receive proper nutrition from the blood. Now we have to make sure that the nutrition they are so desperate for are actually available within the blood to begin with. The nutrients you really want to focus on include biotin, vitamins A and E, follic acid, magnesium, and copper, among others. Antioxidants and essential fatty acids are also a must. Though healthy foods are the preferred sources for these nutrients, the most sure-fire approach is to take all-natural daily supplements.

Cause of Male Pattern Baldness #3 – Improper Blood Flow:

This is the step that completes the trifecta. You’ve “unclogged” your hair follicles so they can receive nutrient-rich blood. You’ve taken your vitamins to ensure that your blood is, in fact, nutrient-rich. But how far will all this get you if the blood never even reaches your hair follicles? This is where minoxidil (Rogaine) comes into play. It works as a vessel dilator, restoring proper circulation to the scalp. Simply applying a 5% solution of this FDA Approved topical to your scalp each morning will help to ensure that you didn’t follow the previous two steps in vain!

It’s easy to say we only have one body so everything is connected, i.e. what happens in one part of the body must have effects in other parts. But the medical profession and pharmaceutical industry would prefer us to believe each part of a condition is separate. That way, they can justify the costs of treating each part separately and sell us targeted drugs. This is one of the things making research so interesting because, from time to time, a set of results appears that might simplify treatments down to one from many. Obviously, the for-profit doctors hope we do not notice. Anyway, let’s start with a piece of information everyone knows. No matter how caused, hypertension or high blood pressure is directly linked to diabetes and cardiovascular disease. It’s one of the red flag symptoms that suggests urgent preventative treatment to prolong an active life and delay the threatened early death. Published in 2000, a study analyzed the health records of 22,000 male doctors over a period of eleven years. Men who had a central balding patch were 24% more likely to have a heart attack. If the crown was completely bald, the risk rose to 36%. Continuing the trend, research finished in 2007 looked in detail at 250 men aged between 35 and 65.

They screened out the influences of high cholesterol levels, smoking, age, etc. and found there was a strong association between high blood pressure and male pattern baldness. In fact, anyone showing a pressure greater than 120 over 80 was twice as likely to start losing hair as the man with a normal blood pressure. At present, this is only observational data. A link or correlation is shown but it’s not yet proved. So what can be drawn from these studies? One of the known causes of high blood pressure is changes in the level of hormones. Increases in testosterone and adrenaline can stimulate an increase in pressure. By coincidence, changes in the level of testosterone can also affect hair loss. It’s one of the more likely causes of male pattern baldness. So it’s not unreasonable to assume hair loss is a first symptom of increasing blood pressure and, in time, possible heart disease. Right now, there’s no cause for alarm. Researchers have simply noticed the coincidence.

But, if you do detect early hair loss, you might find your way down to your primary care physician to ask for an exam including blood pressure and heart monitoring. Assuming the diagnosis of male pattern baldness is confirmed, you can then start a course of treatment with propecia. If there’s also high blood pressure, you can begin treatment for that. There are no serious interactions between the two sets of drugs. But, and here’s the interesting point, it’s possible that only treating the blood pressure might stop the hair loss. If hair was lost at a high rate by men with a pressure of 120 over 80, reducing the pressure will potentially slow hair loss. If that’s the case, you might treat both conditions for the price of only one drug. While we wait for more research, you should follow your doctor’s directions on the drugs to take and their dosage. Buy propecia online for cheap and effective treatment.

Throughout time, whenever people start talking about baldness, they almost always focus on the threat to self-esteem. Most cultures have decided that men who lose their hair early are somehow worthy of mockery. Inevitably, this has put pressure on men to avoid or hide the problem. In reality, the poor quality of many wigs and toupées signalled the wearer’s embarrassment and aggravated the social difficulties. In turn, this opened up a market to the unscrupulous to sell magic remedies. We still celebrate this time in our history by retaining the idea of “snake oil” and “elixirs” from the Traveling Medicine Shows. But the results in a recent study published in Cancer Epidemiology may be a sign that men who lose their hair early are the lucky ones. Instead of despair as their hair recedes, they should be celebrating the news their risk of prostate cancer is halving. The study involved some two thousand men in their forties, half of whom had been diagnosed with prostate cancer. In reviewing their medical histories, the researchers noted that men whose hair began thinning in their twenties were the least likely to develop a growth in the prostate (whether cancerous or benign). In publishing these results, a clear distinction must be made between the natural thinning and loss of hair that affects all men as they age, and male pattern baldness which characteristically affects younger men.

The reduction in the risk of cancer benefits those who lose their hair prematurely. The researchers speculate this is a consequence of the changing level of testosterone in those who go bald. The higher the level of hormone, the more the body produces dihydrotestosterone (DHT). With more DHT in the bloodstream, the hair follicles shrink. This thins the hair and slows the rate at which hair is replaced as it is shed. But, higher levels of testosterone seem to lower the risk of a growth. There are two points of interest in this story. The first is the presence of contrary research evidence showing a higher risk of cancer among the prematurely bald. Unfortunately, male pattern baldness and prostate cancer have the same triggering cause and both develop as men age.

There needs to be further research to distinguish the cause and effect of both conditions. Put simply, asking men to remember when they began losing their hair is not very reliable scientific evidence. Secondly, propecia, the drug now shown as effective in treating male pattern baldness because it prevents the conversion of testosterone to DHT, was originally developed as a treatment for benign growths in the prostate. It is somewhat ironic to see modern research treading the same path that led to the FDA expanding the use of propecia from prostate growths to a treatment for male pattern baldness. So where does this leave us? As it stands, this latest research is on its own and contradicted by earlier work. It has a doubtful scientific method and a relatively small number of participants. Before we can celebrate early balding, we need a better designed research program with a significantly larger number of men involved.

Only if these new findings are confirmed can men with male pattern baldness feel better about their hair loss. Until then, all they have to rely on is the ever reliable propecia — so long as you start early enough, it slows hair loss and can prompt some regrowth.

When men start to lose hair, it is usually because of male pattern baldness which begins at the temples. Not having hair is something a lot of men fear. With the various baldness cure available you can stop hair loss and have healthy hair. Don’t wait for your hair to go away though, start caring for it before it is too late.

The stress you go through as well as your present diet may also involve in hair loss. If you live a healthy lifestyle, it will be evident in your hair as well. Wanting healthy hair means you have to be living a healthy life as well. Keratin is a good way to keep hair healthy and you can get this with eating foods that contain vitamin B.

One of the baldness cure accessible is surgery with obtaining hair transplants and hair plugs. This is only really suggested for those who have absolutely no hair as there are risks and it is quite costly as well.

Drugs that are given by doctors as baldness cure are Minoxidil and Finasteride. Although Minoxidil was utilized for other treatments before, it is now used to cure baldness. Finasteride was also first used for treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia but was also identified as treatment of male pattern baldness. If you use chemical based medications such as these you may experience some side effects.

As baldness cure, herbal treatments are also used and it is successful and safe. Saw palmetto is a palm plant that was discovered to stop hair loss successfully. This palm plant was also used to treat urinary and reproductive disorders before hand then it was found to eliminate hair loss. Curing hair loss with using herbal treatments is a great option to eliminate hair loss completely.

Hair Again is a baldness cure that you should try out as it is great at removing hair loss entirely. With this you will feel great and look great all over again.

“Follicle Transplantation” is the most common type of hair transplant surgery In this type of transplantation, bundles of hairs growing together known as ” Follicles” are extracted and transplanted in bald head as an intacted entity. This transplantation has a success rate of roughly 100% and results are also remarkable. for more information about hair transplant cost visit this link . Because hair transplants are exceptionally costly surgeries, it is prudent to investigate the procedure, expenses involved, and tips such as those listed below before undergoing a lasting hair transplant:

1. The price of the transplantation varies from centre to centre and the process you opt for. If your budget allows for a surplus of money, the surgecial procedure can conveniently be done without sacrificing other things or causing problems with bill payments. But if your financial plan is tight and money is not readily plentiful, it would be better to go through with a less costly procedure to make sure that you will be able to pay your normal expenses along with medical payments.

2. Your surgeon’s experience in hair transplants, his expertise in the area, and his natural talent all play significant roles in the eventual outcome. Be certain to speak to many surgeons and evaluate their abilties before coming to a decision.

3. Special attention is necessary after the transplantation procedure is finished and the patient should strictly follow the post transplantation preventive measure explained by the surgeon which includes balance diet, volumizing shampoos etc

When considering hair restoration surgery, recall the guidelines described above and, when you finally undergo surgery, you will have a silky smooth head of undying hair.

Nowadays, hair relocation has become the most common permanent resolution for hair loss dilemma in both men and females. It consists of a surgical process where the client’s bald scalp is replaced by human hairs. “Follicle Transplantation” is the most usual type of hair transplant surgery In “Follicle Transplantation” surgery, hairs that have been grown simultaneously in groups called “Follicles” are taken and placed into a balding scalp as a complete unit. This transplantation has a success rate of roughly 100% and results are also remarkable. Since hair transplants are very expensive surgeries, it is prudent to research the process, expenses involved, and tips such as those listed below before undergoing a permanent hair transplant:

1. Based on what type of procedure you choose to undergo, the rates for transplants differ from center to center. If your budget allows for a surplus of revenue, the surgecial procedure can easily be done without sacrificing other things or causing problems with bill payments. However if your budget is dwindling then you should go for a much more affordable procedures.

Deciding on a surgeon :

Selection of surgeons is also an essential contemplation as it is very difficult to locate high quality surgeons. Your surgeon’s experience in hair transplants, his talent in the field, and his innate talent all play significant roles in the eventual outcome. Be certain to speak to numerous surgeons and evaluate their skills before coming to a decision.

3. Post-surgery care :

Following the surgery, the surgeon will explain procedures, such as eating a well balanced diet and using volumizing shampoos, that patients must follow dilligently to create the paramount results

hair transplant cost is the only way of hair structuring.

It?s easy to say we only have one body so everything is connected, i.e. what happens in one part of the body must have effects in other parts. Anyway, let?s start with a piece of information everyone knows. No matter how caused, hypertension or high blood pressure is directly linked to diabetes and cardiovascular disease. It?s one of the red flag symptoms that suggests urgent preventative treatment to prolong an active life and delay the threatened early death.

A link or correlation is shown but it?s not yet proved. So what can be drawn from these studies? One of the known causes of high blood pressure is changes in the level of hormones. Increases in testosterone and adrenaline can stimulate an increase in pressure. By coincidence, changes in the level of testosterone can also affect hair loss. It?s one of the more likely causes of male pattern baldness. So it?s not unreasonable to assume hair loss is a first symptom of increasing blood pressure and, in time, possible heart disease. Right now, there?s no cause for alarm. If there?s also high blood pressure, you can begin treatment for that. There are no serious interactions between the two sets of drugs. But, and here?s the interesting point, it?s possible that only treating the blood pressure might stop the hair loss. If hair was lost at a high rate by men with a pressure of 120 over 80, reducing the pressure will potentially slow hair loss. If that?s the case, you might treat both conditions for the price of only one drug. While we wait for more research, you should follow your doctor?s directions on the drugs to take and their dosage.

In reality, the poor quality of many wigs and toup?es signalled the wearer?s embarrassment and aggravated the social difficulties. In turn, this opened up a market to the unscrupulous to sell magic remedies. We still celebrate this time in our history by retaining the idea of ?snake oil? and ?elixirs? from the Traveling Medicine Shows.

Until then, all they have to rely on is the ever reliable propecia ? so long as you start early enough, it slows hair loss and can prompt some regrowth.

male baldness can now be successfully treated to end hair loss and stimulate fresh hair growth. Treatment options and techniques are available to battle this hereditary problem and maintain positive self-image. The purpose of all methods is always to inhibit DHT, the cause of hair follicle death and loss. All hair treatment methods require a long term commitment to ensure hair thinning doesn’t return.

Hair thinning is really a hard problem for men resulting in a search for hair treatment or techniques to halt and reverse balding. Even though many treatments exist to fight hair thinning, no long lasting cure exists. The treatments that do exist have had levels of success with men who have made these treatments a permanent part of their battle against hair loss.

thinning hair is the result of dihydrotestosterone presence in the body. This DHT has effects on hair follicles making them die. These dead follicles cause the hair to fall out. All males have levels of DHT, however the level of vulnerability or resistance is hereditary, however which member of the family was to blame for the vulnerability is difficult to determine.

Roughly 95 percent of male balding is male pattern balding called androgenic alopecia. The best treatment for fighting baldness is to block the DHT responsible for thinning hair. Many products and techniques have been created to successfully prevent the consequences of Dihydrotestosterone.

The most typical treatments for preventing baldness are the usage of the Rogaine and Propecia. Rogaine, an over the counter cream can be found in pharmacies as well as other places. Propecia, a pill needs a doctor’s prescription for purchase. Both products effectively block DHT. They have been effective in the prevention of hair loss in young men as well as the restoration of hair growth.

Mesotherapy has been successful in hair loss stoppage as well as new hair growth stimulation. This therapy combines a series of hair loss medications such as minerals and vitamins along with known Dihydrotestosterone blockers. The use of microinjections to the scalp increases blood circulation to the scalp in order to fortify and restore hair follicles. The duration of initial treatment may be from a couple of months to a year, however overall treatment has to continue in order to prevent a return to hair loss.

Surgical hair transplants are a costly, but effective method to restore hair loss. Healthful hair is obtained from the back of the head and transplanted to the balding spots. The key to success is using DHT resistant hair for transplant, is the use of hair follicles from the area inside the ring of hair unaffected by follicle death and fallout.

This surgical treatment has the greatest success rate with male pattern baldness. Men typically go through this process a few times because thousands of hair follicles are transplanted at once. If a man suffers from diffuse baldness where hair falls from all over the scalp, this procedure is going to be much less successful because the hair is unstable. However with all transplant methods, anti-rejection medication will be prescribed to prevent a return to hair thinning.

A lot of men use natural products containing vitamins, herbs and essential oils have been developed as hair products of shampoo, conditioner, gel and oil to block Dihydrotestosterone. Aside from surgery, the main focus is on diet and ensuring the required nutrients, vitamins and minerals such as magnesium, zinc and copper. Despite the fact that male baldness may be hereditary, options are available to combat male baldness and achieve success.

male pattern baldness is a common condition, in which the hair on the scalp starts thinning. Generally, the hairline on the top of the head starts to recede.

Propecia

Finasteride is marketed under the brand name Propecia. It is an FDA approved drug for the treatment of male pattern baldness. It slows down the rate of hair loss and helps in growth of new hair and works best for mild to moderate hair loss in men. It should be used only by men. Women and children should not use it. Men, who have experienced excessive hair loss seldom benefit from the use of this drug.

How does Propecia work to control hair loss?

It works by blocking the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the body. It works mainly on the vertex and the anterior of the mid-scalp area. The level of DHT in the scalp decreases and the hair stops thinning down. In certain cases, this drug also helps hair follicles to enlarge. This makes it possible for new hair to grow back, much thicker and shinier. It works for more than 90% of the men, who take it regularly. The results are satisfactory, but far from perfect. A man, who has lost most of his hair, should not expect complete re-growth of hair from using this oral medication. However, most men who have used it have experienced a good amount of hair growth.

Who can buy Propecia?

Men, who suffer from male pattern baldness, should buy this drug. This medication is not recommended for use in women and children. Finasteride is absorbed through the skin, and this is why women and children must stay away from this drug. Before taking it, talk to your doctor if you have any allergies or a history of any illness. Women, who are exposed to this drug during their pregnancy, may experience birth defects in their unborn male child. If a woman is exposed to this drug accidently, she should wash the exposed area with soap and water. People, who suffer from liver disease, bladder muscle disorder, or prostate cancer, should avoid taking this drug.

Where can I buy Propecia?

You can visit online pharmacies to purchase Propecia, or you can contact your local pharmacy provided you have a valid prescription for it. Stay way from generic versions of this drug as it can harm your health. Ordering it online will save you both time and money.
Propecia must be stored at room temperature and kept away from light, heat and moisture. Keep the bottle closed tight when not in use. It comes in a tablet form and should be taken with or without food, with a full glass of water. This drug is really effective in stimulating new hair growth over the crown area. It also works well synergistically with hair transplant surgeries. Physicians often recommend this drug for stopping hair loss, while they carry out the surgery. If you suffer from hair loss, you should buy Propecia to halt your hair loss.

hair loss is one of the biggest problems that trouble most adults across the world. It makes you look aged and some people also suffer from low self confidence due to this. Various methods and techniques are available in the market to help re grow hair and improve one’s looks. One of the most popular methods is to use a laser comb. A laser comb functions on the theory of Phototherapy or light healing.

Laser combs were invented in the beginning of the 20th century and it has been proven to be completely safe. Laser lights that are used for other medical purposes are usually very strong and harsh. However the laser light used for these combs is of much lower level and hence completely safe. Currently they also follow FDA guidelines for hair loss treatment. This device was created to be a miniature version of the salon laser treatment for hair re-growth.

Most laser combs have 17 diode lasers that reach the scalp through conical shaped bristles. These perfectly crafted bristles ensure that the beam is directed at the exact location on the scalp. As a customer you must be aware that the best quality combs contain four rows of diode lasers which provide the exact amount of light energy required. However you must not get duped by buying combs that have LED’s or light emitting diodes fitted on them.

At some point in your life, you are going to notice that your hair is getting thinner. This is especially true for men, but some women also have the unfortunate bad luck of having to lose their hair. It’s more common for men. And more and more often, men lose their hair at a young age.

Whether you are young or old, standing by helplessly while watching your hairs fall out usually takes its toll on our psyche. Young men depend much more on their looks than older men, so they tend to suffer the most from hair loss.

But not all is lost. You do not have to stand by helplessly while your hair is falling out and becoming thinner with each passing month. The earlier you get yourself on finasteride, the better it is. This drug is known to effectively slow down the baldness process, buying you more time.

It’s great to slow down hair loss, but what if you’ve already suffered a great amount of hair loss and you want to do something to reverse this unfortunate fact? In this case, you are looking at hair transplant surgery. It’s currently the only way to restore hair. This is how it works.

1. When performing this treatment, donor hair from your own head will be transplanted to a balding area to make it look more hairy. The donor hairs come from the back of the head. The hairs in this area are not sensitive to the balding hormone otherwise known as DHT. The donor hair is excised in the form of a tissue strip. This strip is dissected into hair grafts.

2. After your donor hair has been removed, a laser will be used to puncture tiny little wounds in the balding area that is going to be treated. The laser allows for very precise creation of recipient sites. Because these wounds are so small, they are going to heal up really well.

3. Once your dissected hair grafts are ready to be implanted, the doctor will take them one by one and place them in the recipient sites that he has just created. These wounds are so tiny that they will heal quickly, causing the transplanted hair grafts to be firmly in place. From that point on, your transplants will grow naturally as if they have always been there.

Before you take the plunge, you have to really think hard about this. Ask yourself if this is what you really want. The possibility exists that it will take you less time and energy to come to terms with a bald head. Only do this if you’re positive this will improve how you feel about yourself!

Testosterone is a male sex hormone and is an androgen. The normal growth and development of the male sex characteristics is a result of the action of testosterone. It also helps in strengthening muscle tone. Medical experts have now discovered a link between baldness and testosterone.

What is the link?

As a part of the natural biological process of the body, testosterone gets converted into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). This is an androgen that lies at the root of male pattern baldness or male hair loss. Dermatologists have zeroed in on increased levels of DHT as one of the key reasons behind hair loss.

Understanding the link

A typical day for your scalp involves the loss of around a 100 new hairs and at the same time sprouting 100 new hairs. So, there is an equitable distribution of loss and growth. But, increased levels of DHT, changes this equilibrium. You keep losing hair through the action of DHT on the hair follicle, and the unaffected hair follicles cant keep up with this excessive hair fall in terms of production of new hair.

How DHT causes hair loss?

Apart from its positive androgenic functions, DHT has a negative effect on the hair follicle. As the levels of this substance increase in your body, the functionality of the hair follicle gets affected. DHT keeps shrinking the hair follicle, till the follicle can no longer produce new hair. This means that DHT has emerged as one of the primary causes of male pattern hair loss along with the family history of a person. Hair follicles go through various stages of growth. Its believed that the action of DHT affects the various stages of hair growth to such an extent that over time there is very little, if any, visible hair on the scalp.

Baldness treatment

One of the popularly prescribed treatments for hair loss is Propecia. Its active ingredient, finasteride, is an anti-androgen whose action inhibits the functioning of an enzyme known as type II 5-alpha reductase. This is the enzyme responsible for the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). The 1mg tablet of this prescription hair loss medication needs to be taken once a day, regularly over a 12 month period. The intake of this medication has been seen to decrease hair loss in as little as three months. Between weeks 6 and 12, you can experience the growth of new hair.

The big fight

If you are suffering from hair loss, you have a big fight on your cards. For many, it’s a losing battle as they have started on a treatment option when hair loss in its final stages. If you want to address your hair loss concerns, you need to make sure that you start off on a treatment option in good time. It’s important to consult your doctor or a dermatologist if you are looking for a treatment option for hair loss. They are the best people to tell you whether your hair loss is a result of DHT or there is some other cause behind it.

DID YOU KNOW? The generic drug was originally developed for the treatment of prostate problems in men, with a strange side effect of hair growth?

Have you noticed your hair line receding, thinning hair on the top or middle of your head? You may simply be experiencing male pattern baldness, the most common form of hair loss in men according to the American Hair Loss Council. If you are worried about your male pattern baldness, you can ask your doctor about taking Propecia to slow your hair loss and possibly re-grow some hair that has been lost.

The facts are that age coupled with your genetics creates a chemical in your body called DHT, which attacks and shrinks hair follicles resulting in hair loss in many men. “Propecia blocks the action of the DHT allowing follicles to keep growing hair,” explains Dr. Sara Wasserbauer, a board-certified, California-based Hair Transplant Surgeon. “You can’t block genetics but you can block DHT with Propecia!”

Is Propecia for me?

___ Are you a young man diagnosed with male pattern baldness?
___ Are you willing to take a pill every day, forever?
___ Can you afford the cost of the prescription?
___ Are you willing to evaluate any side effects, and give them time to resolve?
___ Are you willing to wait approximately three months to begin see effects?
___ FOR MEN ONLY!

How does Propecia work?

Scientists have discovered a chemical produced in the human body as we age called DHT, which, depending on genetic factors, can attack the male prostate glands and shrink hair follicles until they no longer produce visible hair. The FDA has approved Propecia as the only pill taken once daily that blocks DHT from attacking follicles allowing hair to grow. Propecia was developed to treat mild to moderate male pattern hair loss on the top and middle scalp areas of the head although it is not proven to work on receding hair lines.

What can I expect?

You’ll need to visit your doctor to confirm the diagnosis for your hair thinning or hair loss. Once you receive a prescription from your doctor, you will begin taking Propecia once daily. In clinical studies, less than 2% of men experienced some sexual side effects, breast tenderness and enlargement and testicular pain. Dr. Wasserbauer cautions that while side effects might at first seem alarming, that in most cases, hormone increases level off in a few weeks and side effects dissipate. Either way, any side effects are completely reversible if you stop taking Propecia

You’ll need to take Propecia daily for about three months before you see any noticeable differences because that’s about how long the hair growth cycle takes. If you don’t see any improvements by 12 months most experts agree on discontinuing the drug. “I call it ‘Vitamin P’ for men – because you take it every day for strong hair follicles, just like other vitamins,” says Wasserbauer.

Complications

Propecia can affect some blood tests, so always tell any doctor you are seeing for any reason you are taking Propecia. Report side effects, pain or lumps to your doctor. And, according to Propecia directions: Propecia will not work better or faster if you take it more than once a day!

The Bottom Line

The American Hair Loss Council advises you stick to FDA-approved hair loss treatments because the vast majority of advertised treatments or off-label prescriptions do not work for the prevention and treatment of hair loss. FDA approved treatments have been tested and proven to safely produce results.

Experts agree that Propecia is a long-term treatment and that if you stop taking it, you will likely lose any hair you have gained within 12 months of stopping treatment. However Propecia can also be a beneficial addition to treatments with low-level laser light therapy as Shelly Beatty, owner and Hair Loss consultant at StyleMakers Salon in Fort Worth, Texas explains, “The laser works on the outside and Propecia works on the inside – together the results can be quite measurable!”

Get Yourself Diagnosed

Experts say hair loss of about 50-100 hairs per day is normal and should not be a cause for concern. But if you are losing more than a 100 hairs a day, you should get yourself diagnosed with hair loss by your doctor or dermatologist. It is vital to determine the cause of hair loss before you begin any treatment. Also, you should not delay your visit to a doctor. To get the best results of any hair loss treatment you should begin the treatment early.

Ask Your Doctor If Propecia Will Be Appropriate For You

Propecia is by far the most effective medication for the treatment of male pattern baldness. However, it is a prescription medication that should be taken only on the recommendation of a doctor. While discussing Propecia treatment, inform your doctor about your medical conditions and any other medicines that you may be taking. Propecia is not recommended for men with diminished urinary flow, hepatic impairment or prostate cancer.

Take Propecia Daily

Once your doctor approves the use of Propecia, you would be required to take the medicine daily. Propecia is available in the dosage strength of a 1mg pill. You’ll need to take the medicine daily, preferably at the same time of the day each day. Propecia is to be taken orally, with or without food. Do not take more than the prescribed dosage. It will not result in increased hair gain and may increase the risk of side effects.

How Propecia Works

Propecia works by preventing the enzyme called type II 5-alpha reductase from converting testosterone into DHT (dihydrotestosterone). Researches have shown that an excess of DHT in some men shrinks the hair follicle and prevents visible hair from growing. Propecia keeps DHT levels in check by inhibiting the action of enzyme type II 5-alpha reductase. Over time, DHT levels will stabilize and as a result, your hair growth cycle will normalise.

Effects of Propecia

Once you start taking Propecia do not expect immediate results. The medicine takes some time to build up in the blood stream and to reach maximum effectiveness. Results will be noticeable 3 – 6 months after beginning treatment. The medicine has been proven to be effective in reducing hair loss and stimulating the growth of new hair in most men.

Tips & Warnings
Propecia should be used in men only. Women and children must not use Propecia pills.
Women who are pregnant or likely to become pregnant should not even handle broken or crushed tablets of Propecia as it can cause improper growth of a male foetus.
The effect of Propecia will last only as long you take the medicine. Any hair gained during the treatment will be lost again 12 months after ceasing the treatment.
