The first part of this regimen is a topical application. The second part is a pill that you take once per day. This treatment has been proven very effective in reducing the effects of hair loss due to male pattern baldness. If your hair loss is due to other types of matters such as cancer treatment, then Provillus will not be effective for you.

It is important to know what kind of hairloss you are experiencing before specific action can be taken. The most common type of hair loss for men is alopecia androgenetica (AGA). This hairloss follows the classic pattern in which there arise inlets and the hair on the crown gets ever thinner. In female pattern AGA begins in the separation and the hair gradually thins in a diffuse pattern. AGA is hereditary, so when the description applies to you and it comes in your family (the maternal genes weighs more heavy) you probably suffer from AGA. If it is not clear what kind of hair loss you have, consult a doctor.
Do not panic!

Hair loss is a slow process and it may take a while before your hair has become noticably thinner. Many people start counting shed hairs after combing or showering. Do not fall for this trap! This only makes you stressed, loss of hair is normal. Do not panic if you come to the conclusion that you suffer from hair loss. There are currently sufficient hairgrowth products available to stabilize your hairloss or even improve the growth.
Take action!

Once you’ve determined that you are experiencing hair loss and you’re well informed about the possibilities, take action. The sooner you start with the hair growth products, the better. This is essential because growth products work better in maintaining the hair you still have, than regrow what’s been lost.

Also use products that have proven effects against hair loss. Health stores, drug stores and merchants promote and sell lots of hair growth products, but for most of them do not have scientifically proven positive effects.
Proven resources

Over the years a lot of hair growth products have come on the market, unfortunately there is only a small number with scientifically proven effects against hairloss. Roughly hair growth products can be placed in four basic categories:

DHT-inhibitors (finasteride, dutasteride and Saw Palmetto). Finasteride which is taken as a tablet and also has an effect on slowing hair loss and promoting hair growth in some but not all men.
Minoxidil, which is known by various trade names. It is applied directly to the scalp, and slows hair loss or promotes hair growth in some, but not all men
Ketoconazole shampoo (nizoral, rooscure and revita shampoo)
Low Level Laser Therapy (lasercomb of laserhelmet)

Most men take at least one of each category. On websites and forums they refer to this as the golden triangle.

Besides these medications there are a number of supplements one can take:

MSM
Vitamine B6
Green thea
Omega 3 fatacids

Hair growth products may cause side effects, so be sure to know the exact inner workings of the products you use and read the instructions. Talk to a doctor about what products to use. Else you keep strictly to the recommended doses. A higher dosage does not always mean a better result, sometimes just stronger side-effects.

There are few indications wherein the alopecia can be attributed at least’s one part, to poor diet and the nutrition. There is a growing number of doctors and physicians who advocate vitamins for hair loss as a part of a larger medication regimen. They depend on research which seem to prove that those whose diet is low in certain vitamins – mainly the B’s, and even folic acid, inositol, biotin, zinc, sulfur as well as magnesium, usually suffer some degree of hair loss. Due to this, there’s a growing trend in the number of vitamins and supplements prescribed to patients who present with thinning or balding hair.

Human and also animal studies seem to support this. For example, lab rats, fed a diet that was short of magnesium quickly started to lose their hair in patches. Other experiments which removed b-vitamins or inositol or biotin from the diet resulted in varying degrees of hair loss.

This is further bolstered by reports of humans who’ve increased their intake of particular vitamins and have seen an improvement in their overall hair quality. This is particularly true for those who have increased their levels of B-6 and folic acid.

Inversely there’s a bitter indication that other vitamins, taken in the surplus amount, can actually lead to the hair loss. This is especially true in the case of vitamin A. It is apparent, in the case of utilizing vitamins for hair loss, that patients must work closely with a doctor to come up with a regimen that works for them.

A doctor might prescribe a multivitamin to increase overall nutrition in a patient. They might also advocate taking higher doses of particular nutrients, vitamins and minerals. Patients shall even recognize that the intake of these vitamins could be increased by adding certain foods to their diet.

Anyone who is interested in this kind of more historic kind of approach of curing the hair loss must take a time to sit down and talk about it with the doctor and even with the nutritionists. This is especially vital in the case of alopecia patients as some vitamins can actually make the problem a lot worse. Any supplement, including vitamins, must be carefully mentioned with a doctor or physician.

Its likely that a regimen that also includes vitamins for hair loss will assist several patients see an drastic change in their overall hair health. By developing a program with a doctor or nutritionist, these results would be safe and healthy and might stop or reverse alopecia.

Have you ever experienced seeing your scalp more and more as you check yourself in the mirror? You are not alone. Two out of three men in the United States are said to develop male pattern baldness or MPB during their lifetime. Baldness among men usually starts with thinning of hair at the hairline, followed by the appearance of a bald patch found on the crown of the head.

MPB is a form of alopecia. Alopecia is characterized by loss of hair from the head and other parts of the body. There are many forms of alopecia, but the type associated with MPB is androgenic alopecia. This is to differentiate male pattern baldness from the patchy hair loss known as alopecia areata, loss of all head hair known as alopecia totalis, and loss of hair all over the body known as alopecia universalis.

The occurrence of baldness among males is attributed to a lot of factors. The primary factor, of course, is genetics. Some men have high levels of hormones that make hair follicles sprout shorter and finer strands before eventually dying out. Sometimes, these hormones even stop hair growth from the follicle completely. In the long run, the stock of hair becomes depleted resulting in the condition we know as baldness.

Men and women both carry the genes responsible for the occurrence of hair loss. Medical professionals contend that it usually does not have bearing as to whether which side of the family men inherit MPB from. However, a person”s chances of getting bald also increase by 50% if someone from the immediate family is already balding.

However, you should not mistake normal hair loss from male pattern baldness. There are times when you might experience noticeable hair loss. Though this may require diagnosis, this condition can be due to other factors such as diet, medications, improper hair care, and certain diseases. Improper hair care includes hairstyling routines such as ponytails, braids, dreadlocks, as well as hair relaxing solutions and hot hair irons. Hair loss of this kind can be treated successfully.

Since the 1950s, hair transplanting has become the most popular procedure among men with MPB in terms of permanent hair replacement. But these days, new innovations in hair replacement have surfaced, from topical creams and shampoos, to laser hair therapy to stimulate growth.

A typical hair transplant involves surgically implanting follicles to the balding areas of a patient to stimulate hair restoration. If the baldness of the patient is very extensive, several surgical sessions might be needed. Additional hair transplant sessions may also be added after a few weeks, in order to fill the gaps when the implanted hair follicles start growing in clumps. It takes approximately two years before you can actually see the most ideal results. Though this procedure is relatively costly, men are still clamouring for this treatment for MPB.

Male pattern hair loss, medically known as androgenic alopecia, is the most common type of baldness millions of men experience. It does not happen overnight; it may take you 2-5 years to notice that half of your scalp hair is gone. While there is no complete cure, you can prevent your head from balding with proper and timely treatment. Talking of treatment and there is Propecia finasteride – one of the most sought after FDA-approved medicines to prevent androgenic alopecia and in some cases, to stimulate new hair growth. You can buy Propecia online from the comfort of your home and stop losing your locks to this genetic and hormonally induced condition.

Your baldness in depth

Every day you lose up to 100 hair daily out of 100,000 to 150,100 hair strands. This hair fall is normal as every two to six years, the hair finishes its growth and resting cycle and reaches its shedding phase. The reason men suffering from male pattern baldness lose more hair than normal is that their follicles become sensitive to a hormone commonly known as DHT. This hormone is medically known as dihydrotestosterone. When your hair follicles become sensitive because of age, hormonal changes or any other factors, you experience hair loss.

How to keep the follicles alive

If you know how to keep your hair follicles alive, you are well on the road to stop male pattern hair loss from occurring. One prescription medication, Propecia, which contains a chemical ingredient known as finasteride can help to avoid further shrinking of hair follicles because of DHT and can also help in reviving hair follicles that have already shrunk. Finasteride basically inhibits the level of DHT and help in stopping hair loss and in hair re-growth.

Spot the pattern

Unless and until you don’t know if your hair loss is because of male pattern baldness or some other reason, there are less chances of you seeking a treatment. Therefore, the first step is to understand the pattern of your hair loss. If you see bald spots in the middle part of your head and then from the crown and the sides, eventually which might lead to or has already led to an ‘M’ or horseshoe shaped bald area – you are suffering male pattern baldness. It is advisable to start treatment well before the ‘M’ shape is formed.

Genetic factors

Sometimes, DHT is not solely to be blamed for your hair loss. It can also be genetic in nature. Most scientists agree that hair loss in inherited from mother’s side of the family, though it has not been established.

Propecia at rescue

The good thing about Propecia is that it can not only help you to stop further hair loss but also reverse it. More than 90% men have experienced benefits and claimed that their hair loss is stopped within just a couple of months. 60% men have claimed to see new hair growth where they had totally lost hope. This drug is not only very effective but also safe with only 2% men saying they experienced side effects. These side effects too are not very serious and reversible in nature.

Apart from men, women are also encountering the same problem upto some extent. Although, previously baldness was considered as a genetic problem, today it has been scientifically proved that intense pressure; over stress as well as tension are the main causes that accelerate hair loss. Most of the women face hair-thinning problem due to the same issue. Even though there are some products and programs available that claim to provide the best solution for baldness and other problems, most of them are not able to provide satisfying results for the users. Therefore, selecting the right program or process should be done with proper care. Although there are many hair transplant centers operating in Bay Area, not all of them are able to provide efficient treatment for the users. Moreover, before you select a hair transplant Bay Area treatment, it is very important to know more about the procedure you undergo.

Basically, when you are looking for a hair transplant procedure, you will come across two major options in front of you. One is the traditional method for hair transplant, whereas the second is a modern and more advanced method.

Strip Harvesting:

Strip harvesting is the old method used for hair restoration process. When you are undergoing this process, the doctors will cut a strip of your scalp. The strip that is cut for the process is expected to have healthy hair follicles. This scalp piece will be then cut into small pieces. Graft is the name of the scalp that is chopped finely. Once the doctors are done with this, they will place the scalp of the area that is prone to excessive baldness and hair loss. Although the procedure is effective, it will leave a deep scar on your head.

Follicular Unit Transplant:

If you are looking for other hair transplant option rather than Strip harvesting, follicular unit transplant could be the best option for you. It is considered as an advanced hair transplant procedure. The process uses the microscopic follicles of healthy hair and transplant the scalp where the hair loss is excessive.

1. A large percentage of men have balding issues. Actually, 50% of American men that are 50 years old or older are coping with some amount of premature hair loss. Hair problems in today’s society beg to be conquered. Some do it by shaving their heads totally. Others take the precise opposite route and have hair transplant surgery. Those that accept their baldness could have a healthy psyche, but they are slightly out of step with the rest of the world.

2. The process is permanent. When you choose you do not like the results, it is not as simple as taking off a wig to change your hair. You’d have to go by means of lots of surgeries and your head may never look the identical. This is why it is best to never accept any doctor’s offer to do a few hair grafts and see how you like it prior to doing a full hair transplant. Once you begin, you are committed.

3. You require numerous days of rest afterward hair transplant surgery. Because the operation is so uncomplicated to endure, you could possibly believe that you may jump up and go appropriate back to your standard activities. It is just your scalp after all, not muscle or bone. The truth is that you’ve a lot of small wounds and you’ll want to protect them.

4. Hair transplant can be a time-consuming commitment. Treatment can typically last 1 to 2 years. Mega-sessions where thousands of grafts are accomplished in 1 sitting help to shorten the overall time. Even so, the length of these sessions is usually grueling.

5. Hair transplant surgery may possibly be combined with other procedures. In the event you do not have sufficient hair, you cannot have a normal hair surgery. Even so, you can find other surgeries that could be utilized in conjunction with hair surgery to attain similar results. The difference is that these procedures are normally more painful.

6. The grafts may not survive. Few surgeons will divulge to you the truth that hair grafts do not usually survive after hair surgery. The hope is that only a few is going to be lost along with the overall result will not suffer. The reality is that’s what typically occurs.

7. Hair transplant treatments don’t cost as much as you think. For example, you may possibly reasonably spend $12,000 on hair surgery. In case you got it performed at age 30 and died at age 70, you’d have the transplant 40 years.

That would average out to $300 per year, or $25 per month. A lot of of the supposedly low price treatments for hair loss price a lot extra than $25 per month. You’d actually save by obtaining the hair surgery accomplished inside the very first place.

Although hair is not vital for life and existence, sufficient amount of hair makes us look good and we feel better if we look good. So, eventually, more hair makes our existence happier. It causes mental pressure in a man when he sees that he is losing hair. Hair grows on the scalp in minute pockets, which are medically known as follicles. When a special type of cells turn amino acids into keratin, hair develops. If there is some problem in the process of hair growth, balding starts.

What is male pattern hair loss?

Most men, if not all, who suffer from hair loss know what male pattern hair loss is. When new hair does not grow back in place of hair that has fallen, baldness occurs. Various factors such as age, hormones, and heredity problems lead to male pattern baldness.

What are the main symptoms?

The most common form of baldness is male pattern baldness and it occurs in many men. It develops slowly and starts with a bald spot on the scalp. This problem can affect men at any time but, generally, it affects them when they are in their thirties.

What’s the risk?

More than 65% of all men will suffer from male pattern baldness in the UK. Also, the risk of this condition is affected by racial origin. Caucasians have the highest occurrences of male pattern baldness. Chinese and Japanese rank lowest in this with very less, hardly a fraction, of men suffer from hair loss.

This condition is genetic and it is known to run in families. If your father went bald early, you have greater chances of going bald early too. Studies show that the strongest influence in hair loss comes from the mother’s side. Hence, if your maternal grandfather went bald early, you might too.

What causes it?

Basically, hair loss is a direct result of follicle shrinking, which occurs when testosterone, a male hormone, is converted to dihydrotestosterone. It is also caused by certain medications, such as the ones used for treating high blood pressure, heart problems, and birth control pills. Onset of lupus and diabetes also causes hair loss. Psychological factors such as stress and relationship problems affect an individual can lead to hair loss.

How can I prevent it?

In spite of millions of men suffering from this condition, there is no known way of preventing it. You can only slow down the process and regrow new hair at the places where hair has been lost.

Should I see a doctor?

Yes, seeing a good doctor is advisable. Hair loss could be an underlying cause of some other health condition as well. You can treat hair loss by using Finasteride, which is sold as Propecia. This drug has been approved by the FDA. It works by blocking the conversion of testosterone in to DHT. By reducing the DHT, hair loss slows down, and at times, it is even reversed. Based on a research, it can be said that more than 90% of men who took it showed favourable results.

All of us lose a certain amount of hair every day – anywhere from 50 to one hundred to a hundred twenty five hairs. True hair loss happens when these hairs we lose do not grow again, or when the quantity of hair we lose each day exceeds this regular range.

Hair loss can occur as a result of medications, corresponding to chemotherapy remedies or blood thinners, which may damage the telogen hairs, or stop the natural cell division that then produces weakened hair that is vulnerable to breaking. Excessive doses of vitamin An also can result in hair loss as well. The commonest type of hair loss, however, is where increasingly hair follicles enter what is named the resting section (telogen section) within the hair progress cycle.

General, hair grows constantly from the scalp, but it moves away from the scalp in 3 phases. Hair shouldn’t be all uniformly in a single phase. Completely different components of the scalp will be in several phases, so at any one time you should have hair follicles in all three stages. Typically, most (90%) of the hair will probably be within the anagen phase, 10 to 14% of the hair shall be within the telogen section, and just one to 2% of hair in the catogen phase.

The primary phase is the Anagen phase, which is the expansion phase. This will final anyplace between 2 and eight years. A shorter anagen phase will restrict how lengthy your hair can grow. Hair cells on the root divide rapidly, which lengthen the hair shaft.

In the next section, the catagen part, the outer root of the hair follicle shrinks and attaches to the root of the hair. Hair growth stops here. This part lasts 1 to 2 weeks.

The telogen part is the resting phase. This lasts from 5 to six weeks in normal hair. Hair doesn’t grow on this part, but it stays firmly rooted in the scalp as long as the follicle stays in a resting part under it. New development begins on the end of the resting phase, and this is when natural hair shedding will happen, as the brand new development pushes the old hair out.

In male sample baldness, extra hairs enter the telogen phase. This results of this are an increase in hair shedding. Hair progressively becomes thinner and shorter, and in the end, the hair follicles shut down.

Male hair loss treatment has evolved a great deal from traditional times. Earlier, men had only a few options to conceal their baldness; wigs, hats or maybe some ingenious ‘comb over’ techniques were all that you could possibly rely on to hide your condition. But with advancement in medical sciences, you can now prevent and even trigger hair regrowth. If you are suffering from male pattern baldness, the most common type of male hair loss, you can try Propecia finasteride to make sure you retain your locks. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved finasteride as a safe drug to treat the hormonal factors that often lead to male pattern hair loss. But there are still concerns over its side effects. It is important for you to find out how this medicine works before you can understand its potentially harmful secondary effects.

How does finasteride work?

Concerns over finasteride side effects generate from its working mechanism. This drug prevents hair loss by correcting the imbalance of a secondary male sex hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT). This hormone is a derivative of one of the primary male sex hormones known as testosterone. An enzyme called 5-alpha-reductase acting as a catalyst, decrease in the total amount of testosterone can trigger this type of hair loss. 5-alpha-reductase usually converts free testosterone to DHT, causing increase of androgenic hormones in the scalp. Finasteride can counter this increase by inhibiting the formation of DHT in your scalp.

What causes the side effects?

It is because of the inhibitory action of Propecia finasteride that you may experience some of its side effects. The commonly reported finasteride side effects include itching, rash, allergies, hives and swelling of the face and lips. In rare cases, men taking Propecia for the treatment of male pattern baldness have experienced sexual side effects such as pain in the testes, ejaculatory problems, and erectile difficulties. Some men have also reported breast problems such as nipple discharge, tenderness or enlargement; low semen volume and decreased libido. But don’t get panicky, for there is good news for you.

Finasteride side effects may be harmful, but they usually go away after you stop taking the drug

Results from clinical trials have shown that sexual side effects caused by finasteride can affect only 2 out of 100 men. And those who experienced such side effects got immediate relief after they stopped taking Propecia. Also, only 3 out of 1000 men experienced low sexual desire or erection problems after they continued using finasteride for 5 years. In case you don’t know, this medicine can work best if used for 2-5 years. So the benefits clearly outweigh the risk factors when you use the medicine for long-term baldness treatment.

You would like to know:
Propecia finasteride tablets can affect the outcome of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test which is done for the diagnosis of prostate cancer. Before or after a PSA test, tell your doctor that you are taking finasteride. Propecia usually gives positive results within a year of treatment. If you do not experience slowdown in hair loss or hair regrowth after using this medicine for a year, chances are very slim that you will get any further benefit from it. Talk to your doctor then and try alternative hair loss treatments.

Hair transplant procedures have changed in the decades since they were first done. The earlier methods of using hair plugs were not satisfactory. People looked like they had doll’s heads, with hair sticking out of their hair in clumps. Now hair transplants are more natural looking because of a procedure called micro grafting.

Most hair transplant surgeries today involve micro grafting to some degree. Micro grafts hold about three or four hair follicles. Older style hair grafts often held more like a dozen hair roots. These new micro grafts are only possible because skilled surgeons have refined the methods of extracting them.

Why Are Micro Grafts So Important?
Micro grafts are useful in hair transplant surgery because they can give the hair a quite natural appearance. The hair emerges from the scalp in the most natural way, with the same number of hairs that nature intended. If the procedure is done correctly, no one can tell the difference.
Natural looking hairlines have been difficult to achieve with hair transplant surgery. Micro grafts make it possible for a brand-new hairline to be attained that does not call attention to itself in the least. This is quite an accomplishment after the stares that many people endured in the past because of bad hair plugs.

Here Is The Downside to Micro Grafts…
However unnoticeable and natural micro grafts appear, they do not give you a full, thick head of hair. For that, many hair transplant surgeons will use micro grafts for the hairline and the front and edges of the hair. Then, they will use mini grafts farther back on the scalp.
These mini grafts used in hair transplant surgery contain three to eight shafts of hair. They give the hair fullness in areas where they will not stand out as looking fake. It is a common circumstance to have the mini grafts in the central and crown of the scalp and micro grafts at the hairline and around the edges.

This Would Mess Up The Micro Grafts…
If a person had this arrangement after a hair transplant and then shaved the micro grafts, the mini grafts would look decidedly unnatural. However, with the micro grafts on the leading edges, they blend in and give the hair fullness. They serve an important function.
Previously, when hair plugs were used, doctors did the hair transplant surgeries much differently. They used an instrument called a trephine to cut circular grafts from 2mm to 5mm in diameter. These plugs were inserted into the balding area.
Now, a multi-bladed knife can be used to cut long thin strips of donor tissue. The strip of scalp will be about an inch wide and five inches long. Then, the hair transplant doctor pulls the skin together where this was taken out, and stitches it together.
Finally, the micro grafts will be finished by being divided into individual grafts by using a stereomicroscope. The surgical team will make a variety of grafts from eight-shaft mini grafts to one or two shaft micro grafts. These will be moved during hair transplant to the recipient sites so that the hair will have a natural hairline with fullness on top.
Hair transplant today would not be the same without the use of micro grafts. They make for more natural-looking results. Also, the pain factor goes down with the use of the smaller grafts. They have proven to be an excellent discovery.

Loss of hair from some or all parts of the head can eventually lead to baldness. This health condition is medically known as alopecia. Both men and women may experience baldness at any age. It is even possible that an individual experiences baldness in youth.

A lot of people lose hair everyday. It is a fact of life for them. While some seek effective treatments, most of them accept it as a part of their life. There are many reasons why men lose hair. The male hormone testosterone is converted to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) by an enzyme 5-alpha reductase. Several tissues in the body, including the scalp have DHT, which affects the hair follicle adversely. It slows down hair production, and produces weak and shorter hair. This leads to gradual hair loss. Some causes of male and female pattern baldness are as follows:

Ageing
Fluctuation in hormone level
Hereditary factor
Severe illness

While there are many reasons for hair loss, teenage hormonal disorders are major contributors to this problem.

Some facts about baldness

We lose more than 40% of our total hair before we notice it and that is why it is important to start treatment as soon as possible
We lose around 100 hair everyday on an average
Zinc, B6 and biotin are very important for good hair growth
An excess of DHT causes hair loss

Hair loss pattern in men ? Different from hair loss in women

Male pattern hair baldness follows a typical pattern. You can start losing hair in different areas, but it usually starts around the crown of your head. The hairline recedes and forms a ?M? shape. The remaining hair may become thinner and shorter. Hair starts becoming thin initially, and gradually, it may lead to baldness over the top of your head. If you lose hair suddenly, you should visit a doctor and take expert advice. Hair loss can occur because of many reasons, and it can be treated successfully. Almost 50% of the men experience hair loss at some point in their life. Female hair loss occurs in more than one pattern and you may be surprised because of the sudden hair loss. Hair loss patterns in females are not easily recognizable as they are in men. Female hair loss usually starts at the back of the head and hair starts thinning before you even notice.

Treatment process
For those who are happy with the way they look, no treatment is necessary. But those who wish to enhance their looks can do so by opting for various hair loss treatments available on the market. Propecia, an effective FDA approved oral medication is used for treatment of male pattern baldness. When you use any hair loss treatment, do not expect results very fast. You have to learn to be patient. Propecia needs to be taken for a year at least, to get the desired results. It can even help you to re-grow your hair.

I’ve never seen anybody who was happy to lose his or her hair. I myself was pretty shocked to find out I was losing hair in my twenties. I think most people in their twenties will feel the same way. As soon as a person starts losing hair, a feeling of being powerless takes over. We can’t help but feel that we can’t do anything about it. But that is incorrect, thankfully. There is a number of options at your disposal when losing your hair. People are begging for solutions to hair loss this day and age. Here’s a list of possibilities.

1. Nutritional vitamin supplements. You probably already knew that there are vitamin supplements for hair loss on today’s market. But then again, there are vitamin pills for almost everything that can be wrong with person. The truth of the matter is that vitamins can only do so much. It is true that you can make your hair last longer by living healthy. But after years of living on an unhealthy diet, vitamins won’t reverse your existing hair loss. If you decide you want to be healthy, get on a healthy diet. Supplements are a nice extra.

2. Hair loss drugs. A drug such as dutasteride can help you decelerate your hair loss. This kind of medicine is known to be very effective in stopping hair loss. It works by blocking the DHT hormone. When there is no DHT in your blood, your hair loss will come to a halt. You can purchase these medicines from the web. They can also be acquired with a prescription. Some health insurers are known to cover this medication. You will mostly get good results without any side effects, if you’re lucky.

3. Hair transplants. When you want to reverse your hair loss, you are looking at a hair transplant. Drugs or topicals can never make a bald area grow back hair. Only hair transplants can restore hair. With modern day hair transplants, donor follicles will be excised individually. This is an improvement over the conventional strip hair transplant. A big scar in the back of your head is what these strip hair transplants are going to give you. You need to really think twice before having a hair transplant performed on yourself. You can get good results if the performing doctor is highly qualified.

The overview above is ordered from cheap to costly. The high cost solutions will also give you the greatest looking results. When you want to do something about your hair loss, you will really get what you pay for!

Many men suffer from baldness because of a genetic predisposition. The enzyme, 5-alpha reductase, is responsible for the conversion of testosterone (T) to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT degrades hair follicles and as a result the follicles become small; over time these follicles lose their capacity for new hair growth. The hair on your head gradually depletes because of this process. But Propecia, an oral prescription medication, has been specifically designed to counter this kind of hair loss.

What is Propecia?

Propecia finasteride is a drug, used for the treatment of hair loss in men; it is an FDA approved drug. This medication blocks the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone. The reduction of DHT slows down hair loss, and at times, it is even reversed. Since, hair loss is directly linked with DHT, this drug works by blocking it. More than 80% of men, who have taken it, have experienced a rise in hair growth on their scalp. Decrease in sex drive, loss of libido, less volume of semen, and gynecomastia are some of the side effects of Propecia that men need to be careful about when taking this medication.

How effective is Propecia?

A team, which conducted a research to find out the effectiveness of this drug, found that men who had taken this medication experienced favorable results with hair re-growth within 3 to 12 months. This is the first drug to be approved by the FDA, which is proven to be an effective treatment for male pattern baldness. This drug is not recommended for women and children. It was found, that some men experienced mild sexual dysfunction as a side effect. However, side effects of this drug are generally temporary, and once the intake of this medication is stopped, all functions return to normal. It is very effective and most men experience good results with this medication; it works reasonably well for most men.

Where to order Propecia?

You can buy Propecia online or contact your local pharmacy for this drug, provided you have a valid prescription. Many generic versions of this drug are available on the market. Always order Propecia from a trusted source, and avoid being ripped off.

How to order Propecia?

Either you can contact your local pharmacy, or you can buy it online. Various online pharmacies sell this drug. There are numerous benefits of ordering it online. You can compare prices, get original drugs, order it at your own convenience, and get discounts when you order a drug online.

A study shows that 9 out of 10 men who were treated with this drug had visible results. The results included growth of new hair and a reduction in hair loss. It was also seen that under similar circumstances, 2 out of 3 men grew hair on parts of the scalp where they had lost their hair. All the men who were not treated with this drug suffered significant hair loss. This drug works best when taken regularly, for a longer period of time.

Baldness is an age old problem that people have tried to cure and hide for centuries. The ancient Romans suffering from baldness wore wigs. The ancient Egyptians were known to cover their scalp with olive oil in a desperate to regain hair. Cures for instance cow manure, urine and even butter have been touted as either cures or baldness prevention techniques.

The truth of the matter is, you can still put as much olive oil, manure or anything else on your head but it does not stop your hair thinning. It certainly wont help recover lost hair.

Even though the science of hair loss is still not fully understood today there has been huge progress in this area. The main reason behind hair loss has been pin pointed. Hair loss is directly related to genetics. This simply means that your follicles are hard wired to be sensitive to certain hormones in particular DHT.It’s the dht levels which become higher as you age which cause those sensitive hair follicles to eventually die. Some men and even women will suffer varying degrees of hair loss depending on the amount of follicles that are not immune to dht.

So as you can imagine, putting olive oil etc on your hair certainly will not get rid of the dht hormone in your blood stream. The proven way to slow down and even keep dht from attacking your follicles is by using medical or supplements that act as strong dht blockers.

The most well known medical dht blocker is propecia. This is available by prescription only. The next well known and FDA approved dht blocker is minoxidil commonly known as Rogaine. This can be purchased in pharmacies and is usually applied in foam or liquid format. It is pretty messy to use but it has proven very effective.

There are also some dht blockers available as supplements. The most well known is Provillus. It’s best to use provillus to enhance the effects of another stronger treatment such as Propecia. You can also enhance the results even more by following a good diet with foods that also contain dht blocking properties.

Hair replacement surgery should be a last resort. Yes it works but if you take care to tackle your baldness (dht problem) as early as possible you WILL NEVER NEED hair restoration surgery. It’s sad t see people just ignoring their thinning hair and hoping that it will just get better. It simply wont if you are genetically predisposed to losing your hair.

Also, if you are considering going on propecia or dht supplements, be sure to first consult your doctor and dermatologist. Your dermatologist will quickly be able to determine if your baldness is brought about by something with exception to genetics.

At some point in your life, you are going to notice that your hair is getting thinner. This is especially true for men, but some women also have the unfortunate bad luck of having to lose their hair. It’s more common for men. And more and more often, men lose their hair at a young age.

Whether you are young or old, standing by helplessly while watching your hairs fall out usually takes its toll on our psyche. Young men depend much more on their looks than older men, so they tend to suffer the most from hair loss.

But not all is lost. You do not have to stand by helplessly while your hair is falling out and becoming thinner with each passing month. The earlier you get yourself on finasteride, the better it is. This drug is known to effectively slow down the baldness process, buying you more time.

It’s great to slow down hair loss, but what if you’ve already suffered a great amount of hair loss and you want to do something to reverse this unfortunate fact? In this case, you are looking at hair transplant surgery. It’s currently the only way to restore hair. This is how it works.

1. When performing this treatment, donor hair from your own head will be transplanted to a balding area to make it look more hairy. The donor hairs come from the back of the head. The hairs in this area are not sensitive to the balding hormone otherwise known as DHT. The donor hair is excised in the form of a tissue strip. This strip is dissected into hair grafts.

2. After your donor hair has been removed, a laser will be used to puncture tiny little wounds in the balding area that is going to be treated. The laser allows for very precise creation of recipient sites. Because these wounds are so small, they are going to heal up really well.

3. Once your dissected hair grafts are ready to be implanted, the doctor will take them one by one and place them in the recipient sites that he has just created. These wounds are so tiny that they will heal quickly, causing the transplanted hair grafts to be firmly in place. From that point on, your transplants will grow naturally as if they have always been there.

Before you take the plunge, you have to really think hard about this. Ask yourself if this is what you really want. The possibility exists that it will take you less time and energy to come to terms with a bald head. Only do this if you’re positive this will improve how you feel about yourself!

Baldness, either in men or women, can be taken as a sign of old age, unattractiveness, and infertility. Although none of these signs may be true, clinical studies have shown that hair loss is a cause of low self-esteem and low self-confidence in men.
About 70% of men and 50% of women experience some degree of hair loss in their lifetime. Causes of hair loss come from several factors, but mostly from these three – genes, hormones, and age.

In the past, men have gone to desperate measures in trying to cover up their hair loss. Hair restoration has vastly improved in recent years. Among the several options used for hair restoration now, hair transplantation is emerging as the most effective and ultimate solution for baldness.

On average, a person sheds and regrows about 50 – 100 hairs a day. A mix of emotional turmoil, medication, poor nutrition, and illness may cause excessive daily shedding. However, these factors are often temporary, and hair growth should continue once these factors have ended.
Researchers have shown that around 80% of bald men are preoccupied about their hair loss, and men who begin to lose their hair in their early twenties are more likely to suffer from extremely low self-esteem. Permanent hair loss comes from hair follicles that become thinner and weaker. male pattern baldness is scientifically called Androgenetic Alopecia, which is caused by genes, hormones, and age.

How Is It Done?

Hair transplantation is a minor outpatient surgery that simply relocates existing hair follicles from the donor site to the balding area. The procedure first begins with the surgeon removing a donor strip from the donor site, which is often located on the back or side of the scalp.
During the procedure, local anesthesia is administered to relieve any discomfort. Our doctor will remove a strip of skin from the donor area and close the opening with self-absorbable sutures. The donor strip is further cut into 3 sizes of grafts – the micro graft, the single follicular unit, and the modified follicular unit. The single hair follicular unit has 1 hair; single follicular unit has about 2 hairs; and the modified follicular unit has 2 to 4 hairs. The surgical technicians then isolate individual hair follicles from the donor strip, and implant them to the graft region.
The grafts are inserted into pre-cut micro and mini slits that are strategically designed to aesthetically improve the density of your existing hair, lower the hairline, and fill in balding areas.
