In most men it will start in their mid 20's to late 20's. If it is hereditary in both parents then it might start sooner, like 18 or 19. If a guy is like 40 and hasn't lost hair already then it's most likely it's not genetic in his case. He might lose just a little with old age onwards. Balding is still a very mysterious condition that affects a large portion of both the male and female population. While we know some things that cause it (stress, age, genetics) we don't know how to cure it, only postpone it. I got mine from over-stressing about college, since I graduated its stopped. So to your question, I don't know. It could happen to anyone at any time imo.
